JEquity is a smart-client application that is receiving good reviews from users. It will track your equity and update your stock values.

We are now using a self-signed certificate to sign the new release installs. The new requirements for a code-signing certificate issued by conventional Certificate Authorities are too onerous and expensive for a simple open-source project.

We would appreciate a free code-signing certificate similar to those offered by Let's Encrypt for websites (which our site uses).

You will now see complaints from the anti-virus software due to the absence of an official Windows code-signing certificate. You can try the following to alleviate the anti-virus messages:

  1. Right-click on JEquity_windows-amd64_*.exe.
    • Select the Digital Signatures tab.
    • Select Beowurks OSS... from the Signature list.
    • Click the Details button.
    • Click the View Certificate button.
    • Click the Install Certificate... button to launch the Certificate Import Wizard.
  2. In the Certificate Import Wizard, select Local Machine, then click Next.
  3. If prompted by UAC (optional, depending on Admin Previleges), click Yes.
  4. Choose Place all certificates in the following store, then browse and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Click Next.
  5. On the final page of the wizard, click Finish to complete the installation.
