JEquity is a smart-client application that is receiving good reviews from users. It will track your equity and update your stock values.
We are now using a self-signed certificate to sign the new release installs. The new requirements for a code-signing certificate issued by conventional Certificate Authorities are too onerous and expensive for a simple open-source project.
We would appreciate a free code-signing certificate similar to those offered by Let's Encrypt for websites (which our site uses).
You will now see complaints from the anti-virus software due to the absence of an official Windows code-signing certificate. You can try the following to alleviate the anti-virus messages:
- Right-click on JEquity_windows-amd64_*.exe.
- Select the Digital Signatures tab.
- Select Beowurks OSS... from the Signature list.
- Click the Details button.
- Click the View Certificate button.
- Click the Install Certificate... button to launch the Certificate Import Wizard.
- In the Certificate Import Wizard, select Local Machine, then click Next.
- If prompted by UAC (optional, depending on Admin Previleges), click Yes.
- Choose Place all certificates in the following store, then browse and select Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Click Next.
- On the final page of the wizard, click Finish to complete the installation.
